On Monday, Pushkar Singh Dhami-led Uttarakhand government approved the Common Civil Code in a cabinet meeting held at the state secretariat. The CMO said following the meeting, the state’s Legislative Department had already cleared the CCC manual earlier, according to the media reports.

The CM said, “We had promised the people of Uttarakhand in 2022 that we will bring the CCC Bill as soon as our government is formed. We brought it. The draft committee drafted it, it was passed, the President approved it and it became an act.” He added, “The process of training is also almost complete … After analysing everything, we will announce the dates soon”.
Earlier, Dhami had said that the CCC would be implemented in the state during the auspicious phase that starts with Makar Sankranti.
