New Delhi, January 22 (HS): Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya met the players of the men’s and women’s team who won the title of the first Kho-Kho World Cup played in India and congratulated both the teams.
Mandaviya shared this information on social media on Wednesday and wrote, “Today I met the women’s and men’s team of India who created history by winning the first Kho-Kho World Cup. Congratulations to both the teams for bringing glory to India’s traditional sport at the world level and wished them all the best for the future. The whole country is proud of you all.”
India’s men’s and women’s teams won the title by registering victory in the final match of the first Kho-Kho World Cup 2025 played at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi last Sunday. In the women’s final, the Indian women’s Kho-Kho team dominated the Nepal women’s team from the beginning and won with a one-sided score of 78-40. After the Indian women’s team became champion in the first Kho-Kho World Cup, the men’s team also won the title match. The Indian men’s team became the world champion by defeating the Nepal men’s team in the final. Due to the excellent performance of captain Pratik Waikar and tournament star player Ramji Kashyap, the Indian men’s team won 54-36 against Nepal in the final.
