Delhi, 27 January (H.S.): Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will be on Oman tour today and tomorrow (January 27-28). He will participate in the 11th Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) with Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Kais bin Mohammed bin Musa Al-Yousef. According to the Commerce Ministry, the two leaders are expected to have extensive discussions on trade, investment and the global economic situation.
According to the ministry, both sides are negotiating a commercially important, balanced, equitable, ambitious and mutually beneficial CEPA. A business delegation will also accompany Minister Goyal for the Joint Business Council meeting between FICCI and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During the visit, he is expected to meet Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Finance Minister of Oman and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for CEPA, Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Masood Al Sunaidi, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), besides interacting with representatives of Oman industry and the Indian community.
