Raipur, 27 January (HS): This time the 76th Republic Day celebrations in the Naxal-affected Bastar division of Chhattisgarh were recorded as special in history. The villages, which were once forced to live under the fear and terror of Naxalites, are now walking on a new path of peace and development. Inspector General of Police Bastar Range Sundarraj P. said that due to the collective efforts of the Chhattisgarh government and the security forces, peace and democracy have been restored in the Bastar division. The security centers established under the Naxal eradication campaign have played a big role in bringing the Naxal-affected areas on the path of peace and development. He has informed that due to the tremendous success of the Naxal eradication campaign run by the Chhattisgarh government, a new environment of security and trust has been created in the villages, due to which this time for the first time in 26 villages the villagers hoisted the tricolour and celebrated Republic Day with full enthusiasm.
In his statement issued on Monday, the Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great happiness and spiritual satisfaction that on the auspicious occasion of Republic Day, the tricolor was hoisted for the first time after independence by the villagers in 26 Naxal-affected villages under Bijapur, Sukma, Narayanpur and Kanker districts and Republic Day was celebrated with pride. The influence of Naxalites was once so deep in these villages that people were forced to live normal life in the shadow of fear, let alone national festivals. Now, with the efforts of Nakshatra Abhiyan, not only peace has been established there, but a new hope has arisen among the local people.
In the last one year, a total of 26 new security centers have been established in the Naxal-affected areas of Bastar division of Chhattisgarh state. These security centers have not only strengthened the law and order, but have also given these areas the form of development centers. In 26 Naxal-affected villages under Bijapur, Sukma, Narayanpur and Kanker districts, the villagers hoisted the national flag for the first time on Republic Day and participated in this festival with full enthusiasm.
On the occasion of Republic Day, police and security forces along with local villagers hoisted the national flag at these security centers. During this, the importance of Republic Day was discussed and sweets were distributed to the people, chocolates to children and other materials.
Gundam, Futkel, Chutwahi, Kondapalli, Zidpalli, Watewagu, Karregatta, Pidia in Bijapur district, Kasturmeta, Maspur, Irkbatti, Mohndi, Horadi, Garpa, Kachchapal, Kodliyar in Narayanpur district, Tekalgudem, Puvarti, Lakhapal, Pulanpad, Tumalpad, Raigudem, Golkunda, Gomguda, Mentaguda in Sukma district and Panidobir security camps in Kanker district have been established in the last one year.
