Dehradun, January 28 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving here this evening to inaugurate the 38th National Games. On this, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote on Twitter, “Hearty welcome and congratulations to the successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his arrival at Devbhoomi Uttarakhand for the inauguration program of the 38th National Games. The arrival of the Prime Minister on the land of Uttarakhand on this historic occasion is an unforgettable and proud moment for every player.”

Dhami said that due to the efforts of the Prime Minister, awareness towards sports has increased in the country and the young generation has got a big platform to showcase their talent. Under his guidance, India has achieved significant success in many sports on global platforms.

Prime Minister Modi is going to make a colorful start to the 38th National Games at Devbhoomi this evening. Many guests including Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha have reached the capital. State Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that equipment for every sport has been procured from the country whose quality is considered the best at the world level. Equipment has been installed for all the events. Facilities like world-class sports grounds and cycling velodrome have been developed.

Uttarakhand is hosting the National Games for the first time in its history. A total of 16,000 people including players and staff can reach here. Maximum 700 players will participate in athletics, 128 in triathlon, 240 in kho-kho, 390 in wushu, 400 in shooting, 240 in badminton, 352 in football, 136 in rafting, 192 in rugby, 160 in weightlifting, 192 in squash, 208 in boxing, 272 in yoga, 288 in archery, 240 in rowing, 360 in hockey, 100 in lawn tennis, 352 in netball, 320 in modern pentathlon, 350 in gymnastics and 700 players will participate in athletics. Table Tennis 136, Fencing 264, Judo 253, Wrestling 288, Clear Pattu 220, Malkham 192, Lawn Bowling 112, Acoustic 588, Cycling 432, Canoeing and Kayaking 224, Handball 416, Kabaddi 288, Volleyball 256 and Basketball 256 players are participating.

Day-Night Preparations

Complete preparations have been made for day-night competitions on the grounds. Many competitions will be held from 6 am to late night. The lights used for outdoor and indoor competitions will be special types of lights, which are controlled by computers so that the light does not affect the game and any kind of shadow does not disturb the player. The lights have been set in such a way that it gives a natural feel. In the National Games, outdoor competitions like Athletics Rugby 7, Archery, Football, Hockey are such that they will be held under the light of sports lights.

Jubin Nautiyal and Pawandeep will show their magic

Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal, Pawandeep Rajan, Pandavas Band will be the main attraction of the event. Around 1000 to 1500 lights are being installed in the entire stadium, which will add to the grandeur of the opening ceremony of the National Games with a grand light show and then fire works.

A 60 feet high video wall is being prepared in the middle of the field. The video show will be seen in every corner of the field through light protection. Apart from this, a three-level stage is being prepared around this video wall in Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, on which 3-4 thousand artists will perform at different times.

Around 25,000 people will attend the opening ceremony

Around 25,000 people from all over the country will attend this grand opening ceremony. About 20 to 25 athletes and sports officials from different states will participate in this program. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will first inspect the athletes’ parade in the field and will also salute them.
