Bhopal, January 30 (HS): Four people from Madhya Pradesh died in the stampede at Prayagraj Mahakumbh on January 28. Their bodies reached their native village on Thursday. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the accident and announced financial assistance to the families of the deceased.
Those who died in the Prayagraj Mahakumbh accident include Brijmohan Sharma of Bhopal, Umesh Sarathe of Narmadapuram, Hukum Lodhi of Chhatarpur and Mohanlal Ahirwar of Raisen. At the same time, Hukum Lodhi’s 19-year-old daughter from Chhatarpur is injured. Apart from this, Hari Sahu and his wife Shakuntala Sahu of Bhitarwar are missing.
Keeping in mind the stampede in Prayagraj, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav spoke to Chief Secretary Anurag Jain and Rewa Division Commissioner BS Jamod on phone on Thursday. He directed to make proper and effective arrangements for the devotees going to Mahakumbh from the border of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a tragic incident took place in Kumbh, in which many devotees died. Information has been received about the death of some devotees from Madhya Pradesh in the Prayagraj accident. May God give place to all those departed souls in his lotus feet. He has approved financial assistance of two lakh rupees each from the Chief Minister’s Vishvagnudan to the families of the deceased.
The body of Brijmohan Sharma, a resident of Semra village in Bairasia, Bhopal, who died in Mahakumbh, was brought in an ambulance from Prayagraj at 12 o’clock on Wednesday night. He was cremated at 11 am on Thursday.
SDM Ashutosh Sharma also took information about the entire incident. At the same time, Patwari Omprakash Malviya was also present on the spot. Brijmohan had gone to Prayagraj on January 27 with his son-in-law to attend the Maha Kumbh. When the stampede occurred there, Brijmohan was just a few feet away. His health deteriorated due to shock and he died in the hospital at 7 am on Wednesday.
At the same time, Umesh Sarathe, a resident of Marora village in Narmadapuram, was taken to the hospital after being injured in the stampede, where he died. The body was brought to Marora village at 4 am on Thursday. His brother Anil Sarathe said that Umesh had gone to Kumbh three days ago with his brother-in-law Pappu, Ramswaroop, Balla, Ratanlal and Sudama Sarathe, residents of Ajabgaon.
On Wednesday evening, Umesh’s body was placed in an ambulance and left from Prayagraj. Umesh’s brother Anil and others reached Katni from Marora in a pickup vehicle. After this, the body was brought to the village from Katni in a pickup. His last rites were performed on Thursday morning. Umesh Sarathe has two sons and a daughter. He has a shop in Babai.
At the same time, Bharat Pandey, Buxwaha Tehsildar of Chhatarpur district, said that Hukum Lodhi (45) of Sunwaha village died in the stampede of Mahakumbh. Her daughter Deepa Lodhi (19) is injured. Mother-daughter had gone to Prayagraj on 27 January with 15 people from the villages around Buxwaha.
Mohanlal Ahirwar (45), a resident of Uddammau Jaitpur village of Gairatganj in Raisen district, also died in the stampede. Mohanlal had gone for Kumbh bath with his wife Ramkali Bai. Initial investigation has revealed that Mohanlal suffered a heart attack in panic during the stampede. He was identified from the ID card found in his pocket. Mohanlal’s wife Ramkali Bai is safe, but she is in shock.
Apart from this, Hari Sahu and Shakuntala Sahu, residents of Bhitarwar in Gwalior, have gone missing in Prayagraj Mahakumbh.
