Delhi, 31 January (H.S.): India will host the BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Working Group meeting in March 2025. The Department of Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will organize this meeting from 3 to 7 March 2025. The main theme of the meeting will be “Youth Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development”, in which about 45 youth representatives from BRICS countries will participate.
The objective of this meeting is to promote cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship among BRICS countries and connect young entrepreneurs with policies, programs and opportunities. In the working group, representatives of the BRICS Youth Council will share the experiences of their respective countries and discuss new action plans, policy cooperation and international entrepreneurship opportunities.
8 run-up events will be held before the meetingBefore the meeting, 8 run-up events will be organized across the country to promote the importance of entrepreneurship among the youth. These programs will include panel discussions, deliberations and dialogues on topics related to entrepreneurship in universities and colleges.
The schedule of run-up events is as follows: 15 January 2025 – Miranda House, University of Delhi. 17 January 2025 – Mata Sundari College for Women, Delhi. 24 January 2025 – IIM Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir. 28 January 2025 – NFSU, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. 4 February 2025 (tentative) – KIIT, Odisha. 7 February 2025 (tentative) – IIT Guwahati, Assam. 11 February 2025 (tentative) – IISc Bangalore, Karnataka.
The Department of Youth Affairs will try to enhance the understanding of global issues among the youth and highlight the importance of international multilateral forums through these programs. The BRICS Youth Council meeting can prove to be an important step towards promoting youth entrepreneurship in India.
