Gariaband/Raipur, January 31 (HS): NIA has arrested two associates of Naxalites who carried out IED blast in Bade Gobara village of Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh. The names of the two arrested overground associates have been reported as Dhanesh Dhruv alias Guruji and Ramswaroop Markam. Investigation revealed that both the accused Dhanesh Ram Dhruv and Ramswaroop Markam were providing the necessary material and logistical support to the Maoist terrorists for making IED. At present, both the arrested associates are being interrogated.
Official sources informed today that this incident was carried out on 17 November 2023. The Naxalites carried out this blast when the polling party was returning from Bade Gobara village after the completion of the polling process. A head constable of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police was martyred in this attack. According to the NIA investigation, the attack was planned by CPI (Maoist) Central Committee members Ganesh Uike and Manoj and Special Regional Committee member Satyam Gawade following the terrorist organisation’s call to boycott the assembly elections in the state. The blast was carried out by cadres of Gobra Dalam of CPI (Maoist) with the support of OGWS of Bada Gobra and Chhote Gobra villages.
The case registered at Mainpur police station in the said case was taken over by the NIA on February 22, 2024. The agency filed a chargesheet against 10 accused in case RC-05/2024/NIA-RPR in December 2024.
