Tamil Nadu, 3 February (H.S.): The Madras High Court today granted bail to three income tax officials and a police sub-inspector who were arrested in connection with the robbery of Rs 20 lakh in Chennai.
Justice Sunder Mohan allowed the bail applications filed by IT officers Damodharan, Pradeep, S. P. Prabhu, and police SI Raja Singh of Triplicane police station.
The court directed the police to deposit the recovered money with the magistrate, dismissing the complainant’s argument that the accused should not be granted bail until the deposit was made.
The accused were arrested on December 16, 2024, based on a complaint from H. Mohammad Ghouse, who alleged that they posed as IT officials and robbed him of Rs 20 lakh.
