New Delhi, 4 February (HS): India has paid 37.64 million US dollars for the United Nations regular budget for the year 2025. With this, it has joined the list of 35 member countries that have paid its regular budget to the United Nations in full and on time.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ spokesman Stephane Dujarric issued a statement saying that India has paid 37.64 million (37.64 crore) US dollars for the United Nations regular budget for the year 2025 on January 31, 2025. With this, it has joined the list of 35 member countries that have paid their regular budget to the United Nations in full and on time.
Stéphane Dujarric, while naming those countries in a press briefing on Monday, said, “We thank our friends in India.” India has consistently been among those countries that pay their contribution to the United Nations budget on time and in full. According to the United Nations Contribution Committee, as of January 31, 2025, 35 member countries have paid their regular budget assessment in full within the 30-day due period specified in the United Nations Financial Regulations.
The President of the United Nations General Assembly Philemon Yang will be on a visit to India from February 4 to 8, 2025.
