Secret documents have declared Palestinian terror outfit Hamas tortured and executed their own fighters who had same-sex relations, according to the media reports. The documents, accessed by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), also revealed that these Hamas terrorists also raped some male Israeli hostages in their captivity. The document named 94 Hamas recruits who failed the terror outfit’s “morality checks”. Their “crimes” included having same-sex relations, flirting with women without a legal relationship, child rape and sodomy. Most of the Hamas members were part of the intelligence, military and interior ministry.
Same-sex relationships are illegal in Gaza and can result in terms in prison and even death. Action was taken against the alleged gay Hamas members based on anonymous tip-offs between 2012 and 2019. One of the allegations against a Hamas member said, “He has romantic relationships on Facebook. He never prays. He is behaviourally and morally deviant”.
Another allegation claimed, “He constantly curses God. Information was received that he sexually harassed a young child.” However, this is not the first time that Hamas has executed one its own over homosexual relations. In 2016, a top Hamas commander Mahmud Eshtawi was executed by the outfit for having sexual relations with a man. Hamans had also denounced him as an Israeli spy.
