On Sunday an illegally constructed mosque Madani Masjid was demolished by the administration in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar. The bulldozer action came following it was found that the mosque’s map was not approved and some part of it was built by occupying the land of the police station and municipality.
An investigation was started on 18 December 2024 following the complaint. The mosque committee did not respond to the three notices during the investigation. The administration issued a notice of action on the mosque for not submitting the map. The Muslim side went to the High Court. The High Court stayed the action on the mosque till 8th February.
The very next day following the stay expired, the administration arrived with a heavy police force and about half a dozen bulldozers and razed the Madni Mosque located in Hata Nagar to the ground. According to the media reports, the construction of this mosque started in the year 1999.
When its construction started, at that time only the map of its two floors was approved. Later, bypassing the rules and regulations, four floors and a ground floor were constructed in the mosque. Following this, when people complained about this to CM Yogi, he ordered the administration to take action on it.
