Mungeli/Raipur, 15 February (HS): The results of elections held in 10 Municipal Corporations, 49 Municipalities and 114 Nagar Panchayats of Chhattisgarh have started coming. Bharatiya Janata Party’s president candidate Sujit Verma has won by 2456 votes in Lormi Nagar Palika of Mungeli district, which is under the influence of Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw. The state’s Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw had continuously campaigned in this election. Congress’ Anil Das has been defeated here.
It is noteworthy that Lormi Nagar Panchayat of Mungeli district has got the status of Nagar Palika after Arun Saw became the Deputy Chief Minister. Earlier, elections were held in 15 wards in Nagar Panchayat, but this time elections have been held in a total of 18 wards in the Nagar Palika area. Here 11 councilors of BJP, six Congress candidates including one independent have won. In which two BJP councilor candidates have been elected unopposed even before the voting. BJP is celebrating victory in Lormi.
