New Delhi, February 17 (HS): The schedule of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been announced. The opening match of the tournament will be played on March 22 at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, in which defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face each other. The final match will also be held on May 25 at the same ground.
Final in Kolkata after a decade
Eden Gardens will host the IPL final after almost a decade. Earlier this ground hosted the title matches in 2013 and 2015. Apart from this, Qualifier 2 will also be played here on May 3.
Hyderabad also got a chance to play-offs, the home ground of 2024 runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has also got the hosting of playoff matches. Qualifier 1 (May 20) and Eliminator (May 21) will be played in Hyderabad.
74 matches to be played in 65 daysA total of 74 matches will be played in 65 days with 12 double-headers in IPL 2025. The first double-header of the tournament will be held on March 23, with the first match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. This will be followed by the biggest match of the day, when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will clash in the prestigious clash.
