During the seventh meeting of the 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, Kshitij Tyagi, Permanent Mission of India to the UN in Geneva, criticised Pakistan for consistently cancelling the Kashmir issue at the United Nations.
Kshitij Tyagi exposed Pakistan’s alliance with terrorism. He hit back at the neighbouring country over its allegations of suppressing democracy and violating human rights in Jammu and Kashmir, calling it ‘baseless.’
The Indian diplomat said, “As a country where human rights abuses, persecution of minorities and systematic erosion of democratic values constitute state policies and which brazenly harbours UN-sanctioned terrorists, Pakistan is in no position to lecture anyone,” the Indian diplomat said.
‘Don’t Have An Unhealthy Obsession With India’
He expressed his regret over Pakistan’s leaders and delegates who continue to spread falsehoods handed down by its military terrorist complex. The Indian diplomat suggested Pakistan to concentrate on providing actual governance and justice to its own people than having an ‘unhealthy obsession with India’.
Tyagi also reaffirmed that the union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh is and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of the Indian territory. Coming down on the ‘failed state which thrives on instability and survives on international handouts’, he further asserted, ‘The unprecedented political, social and economic progress in J&K in the past few years speaks for itself. These successes are a testament to the people’s trust in the government’s commitment to bring normalcy to a region scarred by decades of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.”
Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish Hits Back Hard
Earlier India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir is and will always remain an integral part of India. He also strongly condemned Pakistan’s misinformation campaign at the UN Security Council (UNSC).
While delivering India’s declaration at the UNSC Open Debate on Practicing Multilateralism, Reforming, and Improving Global Governance, Harish responded to Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar’s remark on the Kashmir issue.
He slammed Pakistan’s propaganda and said, “I would like to reaffirm that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and will always be, an integral and inalienable part of India.” He further called Pakistan a ‘global epicenter of terrorism’ and showed it a mirror over its ‘self-proclaimed role in counterterrorism efforts’.
