On Friday, a Qatar Airways flight bound for Kathmandu, carrying Nepal’s Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, was redirected to Kolkata due to poor weather conditions that prevented it from landing at Tribhuvan International Airport. Deuba, 63, was returning from a United Nations meeting in Geneva on a regular flight. According to the media reports, the Qatar Airways flight arriving from Doha touched down in Kolkata as the weather worsened. A western low-pressure system brought light rain to the Kathmandu Valley on Friday morning, resulting in reduced visibility.
