Flash floods triggered by relentless torrential rain have swept away vehicles and trapped many in deep sludge in lower areas of Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh. Landslides have been reported across several regions. The Met Department has forecast light snowfall in parts of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, and higher reaches of Kullu.
The State Disaster Management Authority reported 583 blocked roads, including five national highways, and disrupted power and water supply in many areas. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu urged residents to stay away from rivers and streams and follow official guidelines as the state battles extreme weather conditions.
