Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the 25th edition of Jahan-e-Khusrau on Friday, praising the Sufi tradition as a cornerstone of India’s shared heritage. Extending his wishes for the holy month of Ramzan, he highlighted the pluralistic message of Sufi saints, who embraced both Quranic verses and Vedic wisdom.
Honoring Sufi poet Amir Khusrau, Modi emphasized the deep-rooted influence of Sufism in India. Following performances by Sufi artists, he lauded their music as a unifying force that transcends religious and cultural boundaries.
The prime minister also acknowledged luminaries like Nizamuddin Auliya, Rumi, and Raskhan, commending their messages of love and harmony. Reflecting on his past visits to Afghanistan and Iran, he cited Rumi’s universalist philosophy and India’s ancient concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family). Modi concluded by reaffirming India’s rich legacy of cultural and philosophical contributions.
