Mathura’s revered saints have called for restrictions on Muslim participation in the world-famous Braj Holi celebrations. This demand follows a similar ban imposed during the Maha Kumbh. The saints argue that Holi is a sacred Hindu festival deeply rooted in Sanatan traditions, and its sanctity must be preserved.
According to temple priests, thousands of devotees from across the world visit Mathura to celebrate Holi in its purest spiritual form. They believe that certain groups may attempt to disrupt the festival’s harmony and accuse them of conspiring against Sanatan Dharma. To prevent this, saints have urged the administration to implement measures similar to the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh guidelines.
Additionally, they have requested a ban on Muslim-owned shops during the festival. Saint Ajay Das has further claimed that Holi is being misused for “Love Jihad” and has vowed that saint-led teams will ensure the festival’s safety.
The district administration has yet to respond to the demand.
