Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have strongly criticized the Congress-led Telangana government for altering the 10th class pre-final exam schedule in consideration of Ramzan.
BJP’s Telangana State Treasurer, Shanthi Kumar, took to social media to express his discontent, stating that the Congress party is engaging in religious favoritism. “Congress has once again proved it’s not a party for all but a party for Muslims. Changing the 10th class pre-final exam timings in Telangana for Ramzan is a clear slap on the face of fairness,” Kumar posted on X. He also questioned whether similar accommodations would ever be made for Hindu festivals.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Minister of State for Home Affairs and BJP MP, also criticized the decision, calling it unfair. He questioned whether the rescheduling was solely to accommodate Ramzan and raised concerns about its impact on students of other communities. “I demand that the government immediately revise the exam schedule so that it does not cause inconvenience to students and teachers,” he urged.
Furthermore, MP Kumar accused the government of favoring Islamic organizations while neglecting Hindu religious groups. He claimed that taxpayer money was being used for organizations like Tablighi Jamaat while Hindu festivals received no financial support.
The Telangana government has yet to respond to these allegations.
