External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar will be on a six-day official visit to the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland from Tuesday. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement on Monday that External Affairs Minister Dr. Jaishankar will be on an official visit to the United Kingdom and Ireland from March 4 to 9. This visit of the Foreign Minister will give new impetus to India’s friendly relations with both the UK and Ireland.
The comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UK has strengthened in diverse areas including defense and security, trade and economy, health, education, people-to-people relations. During the visit, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar will hold discussions with his counterpart Foreign Secretary David Lammy and will also meet several other dignitaries as well as members of the Indian community.
The ministry said in the statement that India and Ireland share friendly bilateral relations based on shared democratic values, cultural ties and growing economic engagements. The External Affairs Minister will meet his Irish counterpart Simon Harris, other dignitaries and members of the Indian community during his visit to Ireland on March 6-7.
