In a remarkable achievement, on March 4, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully managed to conduct high-altitude trials of an indigenous life support system for pilots onboard Tejas light combat aircraft, further redefining the Air Force’s commitment towards the nation’s success.
Giving details about the trial, the defence ministry mentioned that cutting-edge life support systems have been designed to generate and regulate breathable oxygen for onboard pilots, preventing dependence on traditional cylinder-based oxygen. Adding to that, the ministry said, with appropriate modifications, the system can be able to adapt for use in MiG-29K and other aircraft.
