New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and decided to bat first in the final match of the Champions Trophy 2025 against India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The big news for India is that star New Zealand pacer Matt Henry is not playing due to injury. He has been replaced by Nathan Smith in the New Zealand XI. This is a relief for India, as Henry has been a key bowler for New Zealand.
India, on the other hand, has gone with the same team that played in the semi-final. Despite losing the toss, captain Rohit Sharma said his team is confident of chasing and winning.
Rohit also equaled Brian Lara’s record of losing 12 consecutive tosses in ODI cricket. The final promises to be an exciting match as both teams aim for the prestigious ICC trophy.
