American broadcaster NBC is facing backlash after its show Saturday Night Live (SNL) aired a controversial skit featuring pop star Lady Gaga. The skit meant to mock satanic rituals, included references to Hindu Gods and the sacred chant “Om Namah Shivaay,” angering the Hindu community.
The episode aired on March 8, featured Lady Gaga performing a staged satanic ritual. A character named ‘Mola Ram’ was included, followed by a chant of “Om Namah Shivaay.” Many Hindus condemned this as unnecessary and offensive, especially at a time when attacks on Hindu temples in the United States are increasing.
Hinduphobia has gone to different level in US today with SNL doing this Satanic cults skit today with Lady Gaga and using plenty of hindu imagery gods and chants

On the same day, the BAPS Hindu temple in Chino Hills, California, was vandalized. Attackers defaced its walls with hateful slogans against India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BAPS confirmed the incident and vowed to stand against hate.
This attack is part of a disturbing trend. In the last two years, multiple Hindu temples across the US have been targeted. Incidents have been reported in New York, California, and other states, raising concerns about increasing Hinduphobia.
Many social media users criticized SNL for promoting anti-Hindu sentiment. Some also accused the show of pushing hidden Satanic messaging. The controversy has fueled debates on religious intolerance and the need for stronger protection for Hindu places of worship in the US.
