An unidentified man armed with a rod attacked devotees at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab, on Friday, injuring five people, according to The Indian Express.
Among the injured, a Sikh youth from Bathinda is in critical condition and is being treated at the Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research.
Police have arrested the attacker and his aide, who had accompanied him to the temple. The attacker’s identity remains undisclosed, and authorities are investigating the motive behind the assault. The incident has raised concerns over security at the sacred site.
