The Karnataka Cabinet has approved an amendment to Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement (KTPP) Act, introducing a 4% reservation for Muslim contractors in government tenders.
The move focuses to enhance minority representation and address socio-economic disparities.
The Cabinet cleared the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill, which will allow ‘B’ khatas for unauthorised rural properties, an initiative similar to what has been implemented in urban areas.
The reform is expected to provide legal recognition to nearly 90 lakh rural properties, enabling property owners to access essential services.
The government approved a proposal to allocate 4.24 acres of Agriculture Department land in Hebbal to the International Flower Auction Bangalore (IFAB) for two years at no cost. This step is designed to boost the floriculture industry and promote economic growth.
