The Lok Sabha conveys its heartfelt congratulations to Sunita Williams and her fellow astronauts for their safe return. Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed his pride in the successful return of Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams to Earth.
He further announced that India is on track to launch its own spacecraft by the year 2040. In reply to a question, Dr. Singh conveyed that Prime Minister Modi had written a letter conveying his wishes for the safe return of Williams and extended an invitation for her to visit India. Dr. Singh also mentioned that Sunita Williams had previously travelled to India in 2007, during which she had met with PM Modi, who was serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat at that time.
