The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has stated that being called a Hindu is a matter of pride, as it represents India’s cultural, spiritual, and civilizational identity, not just a religion.
RSS Sahakaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale made this statement during a press conference after the Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) meeting in Bengaluru on Sunday. He said that “Hindu” is a nationalist expression, and its acceptance in India is growing.
Hosabale also spoke about the challenges of organizing Hindu society, which has been complex due to its diversity. He mentioned that Hindu society is now more confident, overcoming the uncertainty caused by distorted historical narratives and pseudo-secularism. However, he also highlighted the need for internal corrections, such as addressing untouchability and improving the societal approach toward women.
On the Waqf Bill issue, he said a joint commission has been formed to investigate land disputes, including cases where Waqf Boards have claimed properties.
Speaking on the government’s work, he said everything is progressing well, and the RSS does not interfere in governance. He also stated that the country’s national security and international situation remain stable.
