The ouster of Sheikh Hasina government by the radical forces in Bangladesh is causing a serious challenge to India. Following the political turmoil in the neighbouring country, thousands of infiltrators are making attempts to enter Indian territory.
Hundreds of such intruders were captured by security forces but many of them entered India illegally in the last 7-8 months.
In a series of coordinated operations, Assam Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) have successfully thwarted multiple infiltration attempts along the Indo-Bangladesh border, detaining over 100 Bangladeshi nationals in the past 10 days.
Authorities reported continuous attempts by groups of Bangladeshi nationals to cross into Indian territory illegally. However, heightened vigilance by security forces has led to the interception and deportation of numerous infiltrators from Assam and Tripura.
