The Indian Army’s Fleur-De-Lis Brigade has successfully tested a new type of drone that carries a kamikaze-style anti-tank weapon, designed to attack targets on impact. This is the first project of its kind for the Indian Army.
The army shared a video of the successful test and explained the important achievement in drone warfare. The Fleur-De-Lis Brigade worked with the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) in Chandigarh, starting the project in August 2024. Together, they researched, developed, and tested the drone system to improve the effectiveness of low-cost, high-impact aerial attacks.
The drone went through many tests, starting with explosive trials, followed by checks on the drone and its triggering system. Scientists at TBRL validated each stage to make sure the drone is effective, precise, and reliable. This success marks a significant step forward in using drones for military operations.
