Eleven coaches of the Bengaluru-Kamakhya Superfast Express derailed near Nergundi station in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Sunday, disrupting rail operations in the region.
According to officials from the East Coast Railway (ECoR), the incident occurred at approximately 11:54 AM. Senior railway officials, including the divisional railway manager (DRM) of Khurda Road and the general manager of ECoR, have reached the site to assess the situation. Additionally, accident relief and medical teams have been dispatched.
As of now, railway authorities have not provided details on any casualties or injuries. Meanwhile, multiple train routes have been diverted due to the derailment, officials confirmed.
