Chinese President Xi Jinping has suggested that the relationship between China and India should be like a “Dragon-Elephant tango,” symbolizing a peaceful and harmonious partnership. He made this statement while congratulating Indian President Droupadi Murmu on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Xi emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between China and India, especially after tensions between their armies decreased following the 2020 clash along the Himalayan border.
Both Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion.
Last month, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also highlighted that a “ballet” or smooth cooperation between China and India, where both countries help each other succeed, is the best path forward. He emphasized the importance of supporting each other after the end of a four-year military standoff between the nations.
