An Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot was killed, and another was seriously injured after a Jaguar fighter jet crashed during a night mission in Jamnagar, Gujarat, on Wednesday. After the crash, one pilot ejected safely, but the other went missing.
The pilot who was rescued was quickly taken to the hospital for medical care. The aircraft crashed in an open field near Suvarda village, about 12 km from Jamnagar, and caught fire. The IAF said the crash happened due to a technical problem, and the pilots ejected to avoid harm to the airfield and local people.
Sadly, one pilot died from his injuries, while the other is being treated at a hospital in Jamnagar. The IAF expressed deep regret over the loss and offered support to the pilot’s family. The Defence Ministry has ordered an investigation to find out what caused the crash. This crash follows another incident on March 7, when an IAF Jaguar jet crashed near Ambala in Haryana, though the pilot was able to eject safely.
