- Indians repeatedly targeted in Canada, safety concerns grow
- Anti-India groups thrive, authorities stay silent
- Despite warnings, Canada fails to protect Indians
An Indian national has been stabbed to death in Rockland, a town near Ottawa, the capital of Canada. The incident has shocked the Indian community and raised serious concerns once again about the safety of Indians living in Canada.
This is not the first time an Indian has been targeted in Canada. In the last two years, there have been multiple cases where Indian students and professionals were attacked or even killed. In 2023 alone, over 10 Indian students died under suspicious or violent circumstances across various parts of Canada. These repeated incidents point towards a dangerous trend where Indians are becoming frequent targets.
Police in Ontario have confirmed that one suspect has been arrested in connection with this stabbing case. But like many other previous incidents, the authorities have not revealed the identity of the attacker or the motive behind the crime. This lack of transparency has made people question if such cases are being brushed under the carpet to protect Canada’s image.
The Indian Embassy in Canada posted an update on X (formerly Twitter), expressing deep sadness over the killing. “We are in close contact through a local community association to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved kin,” the Embassy stated. However, the fact that such crimes keep happening shows that mere words are not enough.

Canada’s Double Standards?
It is becoming clearer that Canada is not doing enough to ensure the safety of Indian nationals. Despite having a large and peaceful Indian community contributing to Canada’s economy and growth, attacks against Indians seem to be ignored or taken lightly by local authorities.
Canada often claims to stand for human rights and equality, but its track record with the Indian community says otherwise. From promoting anti-India elements openly to ignoring crimes against Indians, Canada’s double standards are now visible to the world.
Canada has also become a hub for anti-India groups like sikh extremists. Instead of acting against them, Canadian authorities have allowed such groups to organize rallies and spread hate. This creates an unsafe environment for Indians who believe in a united and peaceful India.
Despite repeated warnings and concerns raised by India, Canada has failed to act responsibly. Indian students go to Canada for better education and career opportunities, but end up living in fear.
The murder of another Indian in Canada is not just a criminal case- it’s a matter of national dignity. India must demand full details of the investigation and ensure that such incidents are not repeated. Canada must stop hiding behind vague police updates and start taking real steps to protect Indians on its soil. How many more Indians must die before Canada wakes up?
