Upon receiving information about alleged religious conversions in Masoom Nagar, located in the Maholi area of Mathura, a team from the Dharm Jagran Coordination Department arrived at the scene. They found that a “healing meeting” (prayer meeting) was being held at the residence of an individual named Ter Singh, where Christian missionaries were distributing Bibles.
Vijay Singh Gurjar, Co-convenor of the Dharm Jagran Coordination Department, said that they were informed on Sunday about conversion activities being carried out by Christian missionaries in Masoom Nagar. Upon reaching the location with his team, they intervened to stop the meeting. Key figures from Dharm Jagran, including Mahanagar Coordinator Balram Singh, Project Head Vikram Sisodia, Co-convenor Girish Rajput, and others, were present at the scene. As the Dharm Jagran team arrived, those conducting the meeting fled.
A large crowd of villagers gathered at the site, and Dharm Jagran officials issued a warning to the village’s leaders, cautioning them about legal action if such activities continued. The local police, led by Inspector Anand Kumar Shahi, arrived shortly after being notified. CO Refinery, Sweta Verma, confirmed that no evidence of forced religious conversion was found, and no complaints had been filed regarding such activities.
Every year, over 24 lakh people are being converted to Christianity, according to the data available on the website of The Joshua Project, a Christian conversion ‘research’ initiative.
There are a total of 2272 caste groups of which 2041 are ‘unreached’ as per their website. Out of these, 4.5% are minimally reached and 5.6% are superficially reached. Of the total population of India, 95.5% of the population remains unreached with 2.9% minimally reached and 1.7% superficially reached, as per The Joshua Project.
