There has been a lot of confusion and uncertainty about the Waqf Bill. Many people, especially in the Muslim community, are not fully aware of what the law is about, and there is a lot of misinformation going around.
The Muslim Rashtriya Manch, a Muslim group linked with the RSS, has come up with plans to hold over 100 press conferences and 500 seminars across India. Their goal is to clear up any confusion and stop the spread of rumours about the recently-passed Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which has now become a law. These events will help people understand the new law better and provide accurate information.
Indresh Kumar, the mentor of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, spoke about his commitment to clearing up misunderstandings and rumours about the new Waqf law. He said that the Manch would organize more than 100 press conferences and 500 seminars across India to make sure everyone understands the benefits and goals of the law.
Kumar explained that the law would help solve long-standing problems like the misuse and mismanagement of Waqf properties. He said the Waqf Amendment Act would ensure these properties are used fairly and transparently, benefiting all sections of society. Indresh also stressed that the law was not against anyone, but rather aimed to help the Muslim community by promoting self-respect, justice, and equality.
Jagdambika Pal, the Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Waqf Bill, called the new law a major step for the Muslim community. He said it was a great chance to end corruption and injustice, and would help ensure the rights of the most vulnerable people.
RSS leader Ramlal said the Waqf Amendment Act would help build trust and harmony within the Muslim community. He added that this law would help bring the idea of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” (Together with all, Progress for all, Trust of all) into action. Ramlal encouraged people to share the positive aspects of the new law to ensure everyone understands its importance.
The new Waqf law aims to improve how Waqf properties (properties donated by Muslims for religious or charitable purposes) are managed in India. It changes the Waqf Act of 1995, which already governs these properties.
Under the new law, the Waqf Council must include up to four non-Muslim members, with at least two of them being women. Also, senior officials, higher than district collectors, will now have the final decision on whether a property belongs to the Waqf or the government.
Muslims Have Welcomed And Appreciated The Construction Of Ram Temple
Earlier, a survey conducted by two pro-Hindutva groups found that nearly 74% of Muslims are happy about the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Many of them believe that the temple will help bring Hindus and Muslims closer together.
The survey also shows that most Muslims feel the 2019 Supreme Court decision strengthened democracy, and they believe the community is safer under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
The survey mentions that Muslims have benefited from various government schemes, such as Jan Dhan Yojna (bank accounts for all), Izzat Ghar (toilet construction), Ujjwala scheme (free LPG connections), free food rations, and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (housing). The survey says that many ordinary Muslims, as well as intellectuals and religious leaders, feel that for years they were unfairly targeted by the name of the RSS-BJP.
There are several disturbances in the country which have taken place because of the misinformation about Waqf Amendment Bill. The survey also shows that Muslims have received benefits from various government schemes like Jan Dhan Yojna (bank accounts for everyone), Izzat Ghar (toilet construction), Ujjwala scheme (free LPG connections), free food rations, and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (housing). Many ordinary Muslims, as well as intellectuals, religious scholars (Ulamas), and leaders (Maulanas), believe that for many years, they were unfairly targeted and made to feel threatened in the name of the RSS and BJP.
Muslim Mobs Protest In Manipur, Set Fire The House Of BJP Leader Aksar Ali
Tensions flared up in the northeastern states following the Waqf Amendment Bill was passed in the Parliament. Large protests took place in Manipur on Sunday. Muslim groups organized marches to show their anger against the new law passed by the Union Parliament and shouted strong slogans. They promised to keep protesting until the Waqf Amendment Act is changed or completely removed.
The protests caused chaos in different areas of Manipur, led by civil society organizations. The most intense protests happened on National Highway 102 in Lilong, Thoubal district, which became the center of the violence. The protesters shouted slogans like ‘Allahu Akbar’ and ‘Naara-e-Takbeer’.
Muslim protesters in Manipur started their protest by offering Namaz at Aliya Madrasah and then marched through Lilong Haoreibi. They carried placards and banners, warning that they would continue protests in the Northeast and across India. One protester, Mufti Ziur Rahman, told India Today that the new law was “unacceptable” to Muslims. Another leader, Sakir Ahmed, said the Waqf Amendment Act was an attack on the rights of Muslims and minorities.
Ruckus In Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Over Waqf Act
There was a big uproar in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Monday regarding the Waqf (Amendment) Bill that was recently passed in Parliament. The ruling National Conference (NC) wanted to discuss the new law, which was approved after President Droupadi Murmu signed it. The NC submitted a notice asking for a special discussion on the law, but the Speaker of the Assembly refused. This led to a lot of noise and chaos in the House.
Ruling party lawmakers in Jammu and Kashmir tried to move close to the Speaker in protest over the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. The Speaker explained that the matter is still in court and according to the rules, they couldn’t discuss it yet.
Both the BJP and the National Conference (NC) started shouting slogans in the House. NC MLA Tanvir Sadiq said his party is against the Waqf Act and wants to discuss it. He said, “Jammu and Kashmir is a Muslim-majority state, and we oppose the Waqf Amendment Bill.”
