The town of Dhuliyan in the Samserganj block of Jangipur subdivision, Murshidabad, descended into horror on 11th and 12th April as violent Muslim mobs launched a targeted anti-Hindu rampage, forcing an exodus of terrified Hindu families desperate to save their lives.
Instead of reining in the attackers, the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) government has chosen silence and inaction, allowing lawlessness to flourish.
Thousands Flee in Panic, Carried Across Ganga on Boats
Visuals shared by BJP leader Arjun Singh show hundreds of Hindus fleeing Dhuliyan by boat, crossing the Ganga River to Par Lalpur in Kaliachak III subdivision of Malda. These were not migrants — they were refugees in their own land, forced out by fire, bombs, and threats.
“We are saving our lives,” one man is heard saying in a gut-wrenching video. Another local reassures the victims: “Do not take tension. Arrangements for your food and shelter have been made.”
40–50 Boats Used to Evacuate Thousands
The man filming the exodus stated that 40–50 boats had already ferried thousands of Hindus to safety. Elderly women were seen weeping, their voices cracking as they recounted leaving behind their homes to avoid slaughter. One woman sobbed, “They have burnt down everything.” Another added chillingly, “Only Hindu houses were torched. Muslim homes remained untouched.”
Deliberate, Targeted Attacks on Hindus
This was not random violence. This was a coordinated and deliberate assault. On 11th April, after the Jumma Namaz, Muslim mobs erupted in the Suti and Samserganj areas, claiming to “protest” the newly enacted Waqf Amendment Act. But it was never about a protest — it was an opportunity to attack Hindus, loot their property, and drive them out.
One woman chillingly revealed, “They told us that Modi passed the Waqf Bill, and so no Hindus will be allowed to live here.”
Shops Looted, Temples Vandalised, Ambulance Torched
In a scene straight out of a war zone, the sweet shop ‘Subha Smriti Hotel’ owned by a Hindu couple was destroyed and looted. “They took away all our belongings… even the cash. There’s nothing left. How will we eat now?” cried the owner’s wife.
Another establishment — ‘Sri Hari Hindu Hotel & Lodge’ — was vandalised. Even a temple in Jangipur wasn’t spared. Trinamool MP Khalilur Rahaman himself admitted on camera that a Hindu temple was desecrated.
If that wasn’t enough, a Hindu family’s ambulance was set on fire, its driver thrashed mercilessly. “We hid in our homes, terrified. My entire family — wife, parents, children — was inside,” said an eyewitness. He confirmed that the attackers were local Muslims, not outsiders.
CCTV Footage, Eyewitness Accounts Reveal the Horror
Newly emerged CCTV footage shows Muslim attackers torching vehicles and looting Hindu properties. One man told ANI, “They destroyed bikes, looted our belongings, set shops on fire. The police ran for their lives. We had no protection.”
Manju Bhagat, wife of Hindu trader Amar Bhagat, revealed how the mob tried to storm their home. “They broke the bike, looted the TV, chairs, mattresses — everything. We prayed to God as we hid on the terrace. I feared for my daughter’s life.”
State-Sanctioned Collapse of Law and Order
BJP leader Arjun Singh slammed Mamata Banerjee’s TMC regime, stating, “The administration has utterly failed to protect Hindus.” He further warned about the growing threat of Islamic extremism, comparing it to the genocidal attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.
“This is no longer just violence. This is a strategic push by Jihadis to carve out ‘Greater Bangladesh’ by driving Hindus out of Bengal. But the Sanatanis will not bow. Unity is our strength,” Singh declared.
History Repeats — Another Exodus Under Mamata’s Watch
This isn’t the first time Hindus have been forcibly displaced in West Bengal. After the 2021 Vidhan Sabha elections and 2023 Panchayat elections, the state saw a chilling repeat of such violence.
According to BJP’s JP Nadda, 80,000–100,000 Hindus fled their homes in 2021 alone. In July 2023, Coochbehar Hindus crossed into Assam’s Dhubri district, seeking safety from the political and communal mayhem unleashed by TMC goons and radical elements.
Under Mamata Banerjee’s watch, Bengal has become a cauldron of unchecked communal violence, where Hindus live under constant threat, and the police serve more as spectators than protectors.
