Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly condemned the terror attack on civilians in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam and assured that those responsible will be brought to justice. The terrorists had opened fire on tourists enjoying the scenic Baisaran Valley, a popular tourist spot in the region.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister said, “Those behind this heinous act will not be spared… their evil agenda will never succeed.”

I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected.

Those behind this heinous act will be brought…

Expressing grief, Mr. Modi offered condolences to the family and loved ones of the one person whose death has been officially confirmed so far. He further assured that all possible assistance will be extended to those affected.

“Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakeable and it will get even stronger,” the Prime Minister added.

Before posting on X, Mr. Modi, who is currently on a state visit to Saudi Arabia, held a telephonic conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He directed Mr. Shah to visit the site of the attack and take stock of the situation through a high-level security review.
