KEY POINTS
- Pakistan denies role in Pahalgam attack before any official accusation from India
- 26 Hindu tourists killed in targeted terror strike.
- TRF, linked to Pakistan-based LeT, claims responsibility.
In yet another barbaric act of terrorism in the Kashmir Valley, 26 innocent tourists were gunned down in Pahalgam by terrorists who specifically targeted them based on their religion. The victims, most of whom were Hindu, were mercilessly slaughtered in what is now being called one of the deadliest civilian attacks in the region in years.
The gruesome attack, orchestrated by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of the Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has once again spotlighted Pakistan’s deep-rooted connection with cross-border terrorism. While the Indian government has not officially named Pakistan in its public statements yet, the pattern of support, training, and shelter provided to terrorist outfits by the Pakistani establishment is too familiar to ignore.
As the country mourns the senseless loss of lives, Pakistan has rushed to issue a statement denying its involvement — ironically, before India even formally pointed fingers, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif hurriedly distanced Islamabad from the massacre.
“Pakistan has no link with the Pahalgam terror attack,” Asif claimed. But instead of showing remorse or cooperating against terrorism, he launched a bizarre counter-attack, saying, “The Central government in India is facing protests in many states, including Nagaland, Manipur, Kashmir, and Chhattisgarh. This is home-grown as the government is exploiting many.”
What an irony—India hasn’t even released an official statement yet, and Pakistan’s Defence Minister is already rushing to deny involvement in the #PahalgamAttack

To add insult to injury, Asif went as far as to attempt dark humour, quipping that “Pakistan doesn’t support any terrorism,” a statement that falls flat in the face of decades of global evidence.
Pakistan’s track record speaks for itself. The country is widely acknowledged as the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, with its soil nurturing groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and the Haqqani Network. Terrorists trained and harboured in Pakistan have executed attacks in India, Afghanistan, and even the West. One of the most glaring examples remains the presence of Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of 9/11 who was found living in luxury in Abbottabad, Pakistan, until he was eliminated by the U.S. Navy SEALs in 2011.
