KEY POINTS
- Zip-line operator chants "Allahu Akbar" during Pahalgam terror attack.
- 26 killed by Pakistan-backed militants in brutal assault.
- Video raises fear of local support for terrorists.
A new video has shocked the nation and raised serious questions about local involvement in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. In the video, a zip-line operator can be seen chanting “Allahu Akbar” while pushing a tourist named Rishi Bhatt onto the ride, even as gunshots are clearly heard in the background. Instead of warning the tourist or trying to protect him, the operator casually sends him off, chanting a religious slogan in the direction of the firing. This disturbing behavior has sparked public anger and raised a critical question: Were some locals sympathetic to the terrorists?

On April 22, 2025, the peaceful meadows of Baisaran in Pahalgam became a site of terror and bloodshed. Five heavily armed terrorists entered the tourist area with automatic weapons like AK-47s and M4 carbines. What followed was a planned and brutal attack. The terrorists reportedly made victims recite Islamic verses, and then singled out non-Muslims before shooting them. Twenty-six innocent lives were lost in the tragedy, including 25 Indian citizens, one tourist from Nepal, and a brave local Muslim pony operator who tried to protect others.
The Resistance Front (TRF), a known terror group linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, quickly took responsibility for the attack. However, in a suspicious twist, they later withdrew their statement, claiming there was a “communication error.” But the truth was already out. Investigations by Indian agencies found strong digital proof connecting the attackers to handlers in Muzaffarabad and Karachi, both located in Pakistan. These findings once again expose Pakistan’s dirty game of using terror to destabilize Kashmir and bleed India.
India acted swiftly and firmly. The government suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, a major water-sharing agreement with Pakistan, and closed land borders. Pakistani diplomats were expelled, and India launched a nationwide hunt for suspects, sharing their sketches with the public. In response, Pakistan stopped giving visas to Indians and sealed its airspace. Tensions rose at the Line of Control, with skirmishes reported, while the world watched with concern.
Who is Helping Terrorists on the Ground?
The most worrying question now is about those within. If locals like the zip-line operator can remain calm during a terror attack, chant slogans while bullets fly, and show no fear, what does that say about their mindset? Was this operator simply unaware of the attack, or was he ignoring it on purpose? Or worse, was he silently celebrating the violence? These are not just assumptions, they are questions that deserve serious investigation.
India needs to take a harder stance on local radicalization. The truth is, Pakistan may be sending guns and money, but someone on the ground is helping these terrorists with information, shelter, or silence. Security agencies must not only target the terrorists but also their sympathizers, however hidden they may be.

The international community often tells India to “exercise restraint.” But what about the restraint of those who lost their lives in Pahalgam? What about the rights of the tourists who were shot at for simply being non-Muslims? The world must understand that terrorism cannot be ignored just because it is happening in Kashmir. The blood of innocents should matter no matter where they die.
While it’s true that terrorism should not be linked to religion, we cannot ignore patterns. Time and again, terrorists have used religious slogans while killing innocents. It is important to question not just the act, but the ideology behind it. If such thinking is spreading among locals, then we have a bigger problem than just cross-border terrorism; we have an infection of extremism at home.
