Congress Leaders Lead Support with Strong Statements
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was among the first to issue a detailed response, stating that India has a clear and strong national policy against terrorism originating from Pakistan and PoJK. He praised the armed forces for their “resolute resolve and courage” and reaffirmed that the Congress party stood firmly with the government in taking any decisive action against cross-border terror.

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, also took to X (formerly Twitter), writing simply: “Proud of our armed forces. Jai Hind!”, a direct message that reflected nationwide sentiment.

Other Opposition Leaders Echo Patriotic Support
Several other prominent opposition leaders voiced similar support for Operation Sindoor, emphasizing the importance of countering terrorism and protecting the nation.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav made a deeply emotional statement. He said, “India, Indians and the Indian Army have never tolerated terrorism and never will.” Yadav also used vivid imagery to express his faith in the Army, saying the soldiers have always protected “the wombs of mothers, the wrists of sisters and the vermilion on their foreheads.”
Yadav underlined that Indians are peace-loving but will not tolerate any threats to national unity, integrity, or sovereignty. He stressed that 140 crore Indians stand with the Indian Army and the Government in this fight against terrorism.

Aditya Thackeray took a stern stance, saying terrorism must be completely eliminated. “Hit them, hard enough that terrorism doesn’t stand a chance ever again. Jai Hind!” he wrote.
Terrorism in all its forms has to be eliminated.
Tonight’s precision strikes in PoK are against terrorism, and kudos to the Indian defence forces for keeping it precise to sites where terrorism was being harboured.

AIMIM Leader Owaisi Welcomes Strikes
Even AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, who often takes a critical stand on government actions, welcomed the strikes. He emphasized the need to teach a “tough lesson” to Pakistan’s deep state to prevent future attacks like the one in Pahalgam. He said, “Pakistan’s terror infrastructure must be completely destroyed. Jai Hind!”

The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the Indian Armed Forces carried out precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting nine sites used for terrorist training and logistics in Pakistan and PoJK. The statement clarified that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted, and the operation was measured and non-escalatory.
The Army posted on X: “Justice is served. Jai Hind!” and earlier had written: “Ready to strike, trained to win.” Defence Minister Rajnath Singh responded with the slogan “Bharat Mata ki Jai”, while UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also posted a strong patriotic message: “Jai Hind! Jai Hind Ki Sena!”

Despite the restraint shown by India, Pakistan violated the Ceasefire Agreement just hours after Operation Sindoor. Artillery fire was reported in the Bhimber Gali sector of the Poonch-Rajouri region. Indian officials confirmed that the Army responded appropriately and maintained a calibrated response.
Operation Sindoor, carried out with surgical precision by the Indian Armed Forces, received rare bipartisan support from both ruling and opposition leaders. The unified praise highlights the national consensus against terrorism, particularly after the devastating loss of innocent lives in the Pahalgam attack. A detailed military briefing is expected later today to provide further insights into the success and implications of the operation.
