KEY POINTS

  • Air raid sirens were heard in Ambala and Chandigarh after warnings of a possible attack from the Indian Air Force.
  • India launched strong air strikes and drone attacks on terror camps in Pakistan and PoK in response to cross-border hostilities.
  • Over 45 Pakistani drones were shot down by Indian forces during a major counter-drone operation along the border.

Air raid sirens cause panic in Ambala and Chandigarh. On Friday morning, air raid sirens were heard in Ambala and Chandigarh after a warning from the Indian Air Force Station about a “possible attack.” In response, the district administration asked people to stay indoors and avoid being near windows or balconies for their safety. The alert in Chandigarh was later withdrawn, but the fear among citizens remained for some time.

These alerts came just hours after India carried out powerful retaliation against Pakistan. On Thursday evening, the Indian Armed Forces launched air strikes and drone attacks targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. These actions were in response to increased hostilities by Pakistan along the borders.

According to sources, Pakistan attempted to send a swarm of 45 to 50 drones across different points on the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. However, India’s brave Army and air defence teams were fully prepared. They successfully shot down and neutralised all these drones in a large-scale counter-operation in areas like Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota, and Pathankot.

On Friday morning, Pakistan once again resorted to heavy shelling across the LoC. Several homes were damaged in areas like Uri and Chowkibal, Kupwara. Sadly, one woman lost her life in the Uri sector. Despite this, the Indian forces are holding their ground and giving a fitting reply to every provocation.

India’s retaliation shows that the country will not stay silent in the face of repeated threats and attacks. With full support from the people and strong leadership, Indian forces are taking every step to ensure the safety of citizens and the sovereignty of the nation. The recent attacks on terror camps send a strong message that India will strike back whenever its peace and security are challenged.
