Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a surprise visit to the Adampur airbase in Punjab on Tuesday. During the visit, one photo caught everyone’s attention. In the picture, PM Modi can be seen waving at soldiers, and behind him, there is a MiG-29 fighter jet and an S-400 air defence system—both clearly undamaged.

This picture sent a strong message to the world. It proved Pakistan’s claim false—Pakistan had said that its JF-17 jet destroyed the S-400 system in Adampur during the recent conflict. But the photo clearly shows the S-400 system is still safe and working.

At the Adampur Air Base, PM Narendra Modi said, “After Pakistan’s appeal, India has only paused its military action. If Pakistan shows terrorist activities or military audacity again, we will give a befitting reply. This reply will be on our conditions, in our style. The base of this decision, the belief behind this, is your patience, valour, bravery and alertness. You have to maintain this zeal.”

He further said, We have to be alert and prepared. We have to keep reminding the enemy that this is new India. This India wants peace but if there is an attack on humanity, this India very well knows to raze the enemy to ground at the war front.”

“These few lines were written for Maharana Pratap’s popular horse Chetak, ‘Kaushal dikhlaya chaalo mein, Udd gaya bhayanak bhaalo mein, Nirbhik gaya vo dhaalo mein, Sarpat dauda karwalo mein’. These lines are fit to modern day Indian weapons too. Our Armed Forces has boosted unity amongst people of India through Operation Sindoor. You have protected Indian borders. Our Airforce has precisely targeted terror camps in Pakistan within 20-25 minutes. Our target was to hit the terror headquarters in Pakistan, said PM Modi.

Speaking about the Indian Air Force (IAF), Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised their smart use of technology. He said, “The Indian Air Force is now not only using weapons to defeat the enemy, but also using data and drones skillfully.” He added that in the last 10 years, India’s Air Force and other military forces have received some of the best technologies in the world. He said,

“Today, we have advanced technology that Pakistan cannot handle.” However, the PM also pointed out that with powerful technology comes big responsibility. Operating such modern and complex systems is not easy. He praised the IAF for handling it all so well, saying:

“You connected technology with tactics, and you’ve shown you are masters of it.” He also talked about the recent operation where the Air Force hit terror bases deep inside Pakistan, saying:

“In just 20–25 minutes, you accurately hit your targets across the border. Only a modern, professional force can do this.” PM Modi’s message was clear: the Indian Air Force is powerful, skilled, and modern—and India is proud of it.

The photo also showed PM Modi’s strong support for the armed forces and his commitment to India’s security. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Adampur, India’s second-largest airbase, on Tuesday morning. His visit came just a day after he gave a strong warning to Pakistan, saying that India had only paused its attacks on terrorist camps and military bases, not ended them.

During the visit, PM Modi met and spoke with Air Force personnel at the base. Adampur airbase played a major role in defending India during recent tensions, as it successfully stopped drone and missile attacks from Pakistan.
PM Modi tweeted, “It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation”.

Pakistan’s Adampur Airbase Lie Exposed by PM Modi’s Visit

Last week, the Adampur airbase was on high alert as Pakistan launched drones and missiles after India carried out Operation Sindoor. But thanks to India’s powerful Russian-made S-400 air defence system, also known as the ‘Sudarshan Chakra’, all incoming threats were successfully shot down.

When Pakistan couldn’t cause any real damage, it tried to spread lies instead. It shared a fake satellite image online, claiming the S-400 system at Adampur was destroyed. The photo showed nothing more than a patch of dirt — no craters, no debris, no damage — but Pakistan still claimed “S-400 damaged!!!”

People on social media quickly called out the lie. India also dismissed Pakistan’s false claims. Photos shared by Prime Minister Modi during his visit to the airbase clearly showed that everything, including the runway and S-400 system, was safe and untouched.

After the Prime Minister’s photos from Adampur went viral, many experts and leaders praised him. They called it a “masterclass in fact-checking” because the images clearly showed that Pakistan’s claims were false. The pictures proved that the airbase and the S-400 system were safe and fully working.

“PM Modi walks into Adampur airbase, the very site Pakistan falsely claimed was ‘destroyed’. Just the Prime Minister standing tall with our heroes – reality silencing propaganda,” Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar tweeted.

Another X user tweeted, “The propaganda by Pakistan that they managed to damage the s400 site in Adampur goes to drain.”

Significance Of Adampur Base

The Adampur airbase has been very important for India, especially during wars with Pakistan. It is located just 100 km from the India-Pakistan border, which makes it a key part of India’s air defence in the northern region. During the 1965 war with Pakistan, Adampur was a main target. However, it was the only airbase that Pakistan could not attack successfully. At that time, it had important aircraft like the Su-7 and MiG-21, as well as missile and radar units that helped in defending the country.

In 2022, the first S-400 air defence system in India was placed at Adampur. Today, the airbase has some of the Indian Air Force’s best fighter jets, including MiG-29s and Su-30 MKIs. Adampur airbase also has modern radar and surveillance systems. It plays a major role in protecting important states like Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, and Rajasthan.
