Ram temple’s magnificence won’t diminish in absence of Oppn at consecration ceremony: Dr Himanta Sarma The Opposition has drawn criticism from Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for rejecting invitations for the consecration ceremony of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple scheduled to be held on January 22. CM Himanta expressed, “The magnificence of the Ram Mandir won’t reduce, whether Opposition go there or not. The excitement of the people won’t diminish...” Describing that the ceremony is “not a political event”, he further advised the Opposition to go and “get the blessings of Ram Lalla”. The CM shared, “We are desperate to get an invitation so that we can go but you not going even after receiving an invitation.” Echoing same sentiments, Uttarakhand Counterpart Pushkar Singh Dhami said people declining to attend the ceremony never wished the temple to be built. It indicated that their absence would not reduce the magnanimity of the temple. Ram Mandir’s consecration ceremony in Ayodhya is speculated to be a historic occasion, embodying harmony, progress, development and joy for Bharat. Encouraging everybody across Bharat to rejoice the moment by lighting diyas at local temples or at their homes, Hindu organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has termed it as a “great moment of joy for everyone”. Multitudes of seers are the invitees of this historic event other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Under its Diya Lightning Campaign, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is encouraging people’s participation in the celebrations, targeting to reach ten crore families. The Ram Mandir’s consecration ceremony is set to be a grand affair with performance of various rituals like atonement ceremonies, Vishnu worship, offerings to cows, participants receiving sacred Prasad and gifts. During the ceremony, beginning from January 16, Ram Lalla’s idol will be bathed in 125 urns and finally laid to rest on January 21. The deity will be consecrated the following day during an auspicious time. The moment of spiritual and cultural importance reflects the deep-rooted devotion and cultural heritage of millions of Hindus that is poised to be a unifying moment for many across the nation and beyond.
