Salman Khan made a cheerful appearance at the 29th Kolkata International Film Festival 2023 (KIFF) opening ceremony. During his speech, he playfully compared Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s house to his own in Mumbai, expressing his humorous jealousy over her smaller residence.
Salman shared his amusing perspective, mentioning that when Mamata Banerjee invited him to her house, he was curious to see if her home was smaller than his. To his playful envy, he discovered that her house was indeed smaller. Salman reflected on the simplicity of people, emphasizing that we don’t always need extravagant homes.
Describing his own house, Salman mentioned the challenges faced by guests like Shatrughan Sinha, who struggles to find space to sit. Salman humorously detailed his modest living space—a room, a small kitchen, and a bedroom, highlighting the importance of a place to sleep comfortably.
Salman attended the KIFF 2023 opening ceremony in a stylish all-black formal look. Alongside him, other notable personalities like Anil Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha, Mahesh Bhatt, and Sourav Ganguly also graced the event.
KIFF 2023 promises a diverse film showcase with 219 films from 39 countries across 23 venues in Kolkata. The lineup includes 72 feature films, 50 short films, and documentaries. The festival will continue its cinematic celebration until December 12.
