The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) recently uncovered never-before-seen photos from Hamas terror tunnels, revealing a meeting of top commanders from the second-largest brigade in the Hamas terrorist organization, the Northern Gaza Brigade. These commanders, including the brigade’s leader Ahmed Andor, were killed in a strike on the tunnel where they were hiding during the conflict.
Ahmed Andor, a member of the military branch’s limited council, directed all Hamas terrorist activities in the northern Gaza Strip. The IDF targeted the tunnel located under civilian homes, close to the Indonesian hospital, resulting in the deaths of several senior officials. The elimination of these leaders significantly damaged the Northern Brigade’s ability to function.
In addition to the Northern Brigade, the IDF also targeted and killed four battalion commanders from Hamas’ largest brigade, the Gaza City Brigade. This included commanders from the Sabra, Shati, Darj Tafah, and Shajaiya Battalions. The Sabra battalion and its central command avenue were notably affected, with key commanders eliminated and the battalion headquarters rendered unusable.
Furthermore, IDF forces took control of central strongholds in the sector of the Shati Battalion, responsible for Hamas’ central headquarters, including the Shifa hospital. Heads of anti-tank, air formation, and naval formations were also eliminated. These operations aimed to disrupt and damage the operational capabilities of key Hamas brigades and battalions.
