Jungkook, the youngest member of the famous K-pop group BTS, is making big waves in the music industry. He recently launched his solo career in 2023 and has quickly become a powerful force, challenging even established artists like Taylor Swift. His debut album, GOLDEN, released on November 3, features the lead track “Standing Next To You,” which has taken the top spot on the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart.
This chart ranks the best-selling singles in the United States, and Jungkook’s recent success has knocked Taylor Swift off her perch. Despite Swift’s frequent dominance on the chart, Jungkook’s “Standing Next To You” has outsold her recent single “You’re Losing Me”. This achievement marks Jungkook’s rise in the US music scene, showcasing his sales prowess and popularity.
Jungkook’s hit single not only surpassed Taylor Swift but also outperformed Jack Harlow’s “Lovin’ on Me” by almost 5,000 copies. According to Billboard data, “Standing Next To You” is the only song in the country this week to achieve sales of over 10,000 copies. The track debuted at number one in the middle of November with over 80,000 sales, maintaining its position until the latest Billboard update.
Also to keep a note, all the members of BTS boy band along with Jungkook have enlisted in the military. They are set to reunite in 2025, and Jungkook, along with Jimin, were the last to enlist as companion soldiers. They may undergo training with Jin, the oldest member, who joined the military in 2022. This news adds an interesting layer to BTS’s future plans and their individual pursuits.
