Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his team met with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan in Tel Aviv to discuss the situation in Gaza. They talked about their commitment to freeing all hostages in Gaza and appreciated the US support against the Hamas terrorist group.
The meeting focused on the ongoing conflict with the goal of achieving victory, including eliminating Hamas, releasing hostages (including American citizens), dismantling Hamas’s military capabilities, and ending its rule in Gaza. Both sides also pledged to continue providing humanitarian aid to the non-combatant population.
The discussion extended to addressing threats from Hezbollah in the north and the Houthis in the south, forming part of Iran’s perceived axis of evil along with Hamas. Prime Minister Netanyahu emphasized Israel’s determination to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Israeli participants in the meeting included Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Minister Benny Gantz, MK Aryeh Deri, National Security Council Director Tzachi Hanegbi, Chief of Staff Tzachi Braverman, Cabinet Secretary Yossi Fuchs, IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi, Military Secretary Maj Gen Avi Gil, Foreign Policy Adviser Ophir Falk, and Israel’s Ambassador to the US Mike Herzog.
