On Friday, chaos erupted in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, causing the sessions to be adjourned until 2 pm shortly after they began. In the Rajya Sabha, there was disruption and it adjourned after some government business statements. The Chairman, Jagdeep Dhankhar, rejected 23 notices from opposition MPs seeking to suspend the day’s business to discuss a security breach on December 13. The Chairman explained that an investigation was ongoing and asked for the Leader of the Opposition to make a statement. This led to further uproar, prompting the adjournment till 2 pm.
Simultaneously, the Lok Sabha also adjourned until 2 pm due to protests by opposition MPs regarding the security breach. The opposition members held placards in front of the Gandhi Statue on Parliament premises, demanding action against BJP MP Pratap Simha in connection with the incident. The placards questioned the silence of the Prime Minister and Home Minister, expressing concerns about the state of democracy.
The previous day, on Thursday, the opposition had called for a discussion and moved to the Well of the House, shouting slogans and demanding a response from Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
