Lalit Jha, who is supposedly the mastermind behind a breach in Parliament security, according to Delhi Police, destroys five phones prior to arrest. Delhi Police spilled the beans that Lalit destroyed not just his own mobile phone, but also those of four other people involved.
Before heading to Delhi, Lalit made a pitstop in Rajasthan’s Kuchaman, where he met Mahesh. These two got together after connecting on Facebook, of all places. In Kuchaman, Lalit and Mahesh apparently had a little bonfire party, burning the mobile phones of Lalit’s associates. They were trying to cover their tracks, especially since they expected the police to come knocking.
Before the security breach, the other four involved handed over their phones to Lalit, thinking it would keep the cops from getting their hands on any incriminating evidence. In the grand scheme of things, though, it seems like Lalit’s attempt at erasing the digital trail isn’t fooling anyone.
The Delhi Police’s Special Cell is on the case, not taking Lalit’s words at face value. They’re digging into every claim he makes, especially since Lalit was also the guy filming his accomplices outside the parliament. The police are onto him and are making sure to verify every little detail.
During a court appearance, the Special Cell spilled the beans on what Lalit supposedly confessed. He spilled the beans on a grand plan—him and the other accused wanted to create chaos in the country to force the government to meet their demands. Ambitious, but not the smartest move, considering they got caught.
